While Molina drove like a madwoman through the streets of Westminster, Mayfair, and along the Westway – what Leon believed to be one of the most miserably busy roads in existence – Leon had time to make calls with the management of the industrial estate.

Once he was finished, Leon scribbled down notes in a pad, the inertia of Molina’s rapid overtaking and wild veering across lanes throwing him from side to side.

‘Okay,’ he said, ‘there are eighty-six units total on the site. Only seven have been taken up in the last three months.’

Molina shook her head. ‘No, that’s too long. They wouldn’t risk being seen around any one place for that long. Try the last two weeks.’

Leon did some quick calculations based on the information he’d been given about each of the seven units. ‘That narrows it down to three units.’ He circled them on a map.

Despite navigating through dense traffic at a rapid rate, Molina took a moment to look at the map. She pointed to a unit on its own. ‘That one.’

‘How do you know?’

She pointed again. ‘The other two are next to each other. They wouldn’t take on a unit which someone else could have been using while they were around. The other unit’s more hidden away too. Near the back of the estate, so there’s less traffic going past it.’

Leon couldn’t fault her logic. ‘All right. Sounds good. Will I call it in?’

‘Call it in? Armed response are ten minutes behind us. And that’s if they left right this second. No, mate…’ Molina floored the accelerator as the road cleared ahead. ‘We’re going in.’
